Following on from the positive press received for their first album (The self-financed DARK CORRIDORS) DANGEROUS ENEMY FORUM release SET IN STONE which sees the band explore a sound reminiscent of early AC/DC – As you would expect the result is a string of no-nonsense, driving rock songs that look to keep matters as uncomplicated as possible.
“Despite the obvious restrictions that a self-financed, independent release can encounter the recording of DARK CORRIDORS proved to be an unmitigated success” says Shaun “We tend to be a little dictatorial when it comes to the song-writing process so the ‘less is more’ approach certainly suited us. We carried this attitude through into SET IN STONE and this time went for a Dirty Deeds/Powerage type vibe whereas DARK CORRIDORS was probably a heavier sound than people were expecting from us, more along the Ozzy/Sabbath lines”
“I revised all of my previous recording techniques for this project as I am constantly striving to improve upon the results I get from my sixteen track digital studio,” says Ian. “I even bought a Gretsch Double Jet like Malcolm Young’s to compliment my SG in order to get a more authentic AC DC sound. I feel the end result of this is I have managed to replicate various AC DC album vibes especially Powerage, Fly On The Wall and Let There Be Rock.”
“Also we’ve always been proud of our previous material which is why we’ve made so much of the back-catalogue available on the website. I still feel though that we make progress with every new album and the ideas are already flowing for projects beyond our next release HIGH SCREAM HEAD so watch this space”
